Tulum’s coastline unfolds as a sequence of contrasting settings, united by a shared shade of blue. Some stretches are defined by music, design, and a vibrant social scene, while others remain quiet and largely untouched, where the landscape speaks for itself. Knowing how to choose, or how to alternate between them, is part of the experience.

These beaches are easy to access, clearly marked, and offer full services with direct entry from the coastal road. Arriving early is recommended, especially during high season.
※ Farther south and within protected areas, the rhythm changes. Beaches near the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve or those accessed through archaeological zones and natural parks offer unspoiled sand, dense vegetation, and a rare sense of isolation in the Caribbean. Access here is often more challenging: dirt roads, limited capacity, and basic services. Visitors are advised to bring water, biodegradable sunscreen, and to respect designated entry times.
Within this wide range of beaches where travelers can experience the beauty of the Mexican Caribbean, two new public beaches have recently been added in Tulum: Playa Conchitas and Playa del Pueblo. These are part of an initiative to guarantee free and open access to the coastline for both locals and visitors, with convenient entry from the coastal highway.
